Hi anonymous, would love to hear what happened if you can talk about it, we're all curious.

Manggy, yogurt would work too if you don't have buttermilk around you.

Thanks Diva:-)

Adam, I always have leftover buttermilk after making a cake or pancakes or something so this is a pretty good way to use it up:-)

Aran, were you able to to get the site to work?

Thanks Nobel Pig.

Claudia, I've always wondered what acai berries were all about. I'm gonna have to look for them.

Grace, so what do you think?

Thanks Kevin!

Kate, thanks for your concern. I'm taking precautions, but I've never been very good at learning from other's mistakes;-) The tumblers are made by Bodum (the people that make French Presses). They're fragile, but they're awesome! They come in all different shapes and sizes and are insulated so you can put both hot and cold liquids in it without burning your hands or getting condensation on the outside of the glass.

Thanks Laura!

Syrie, good idea:-) Tell me what you think of the Flor de Sal.

Thanks White On Rice Couple:-)

Christie, you have me totally curious about your top secret project!

Thanks Peter G.

Heather, I've had the same issue with TS. The site I'm working on should be a little more "fair". Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to eat at any of the Portland establishments you suggested (stayed in Newberg the first night and decided to just eat around there). I did get to Domaine Drouhin though and picked up a case of wine between there and Domaine Serene. Thanks for the suggestion!

Cakewardrobe, me too.

Sharon, the cultured buttermilk they sell in stores is basically like a thin yogurt so it works great in smoothies.

Lauren, that sounds like a very interesting smoothie although I'm having trouble imagining what it would taste like.

Hahaha thanks Tartelette, did you get my package?

I worked at a Whole-Foods-like place for awhile and we had the best smoothie: frozen strawberries, peanut butter, rice milk, apple cider. There might have been a banana in there as well. Mm, I'm going to have to make that when I'm back stateside and can get to a blender.

Good luck with the project! I look forward to seeing it.

Looking forward to your new project. I think we all miss Tastespotting quite a bit.

I've never thought of using buttermilk in a milkshake, but I like it and happen to have some on hand. How refreshing!

We're just starting to get good strawberries around here, and I've just been eating them out of hand. I like the addition of buttermilk. Zingy!

Hey, Tastespotting was giving me an inferiority complex, so a little forced break may be good. :D

Marc, feel free to email me if you need any more suggestions while you're in Oregon. I can't wait to see if you like the places I recommended!
