Minute Molten Peanut Butter Cake

1 minute peanut butter cake

With Valentines day just around the corner, I’m guessing more than a few of you are scrambling to find an easy dessert that doesn’t require an MOF in pastrymaking or a week to make. Good news! This molten peanut butter cake takes around a minute and is ridiculously good.

I love Peanut Butter and Co.’s peanut butter because they don’t put a lot of unnecessary additives into their products. Smooth Operator only has 4 ingredients and it tastes amazing. In keeping with that spirit, this gluten-free cake only has 4 ingredients. Mix everything together and pop it in the microwave for a few seconds and you’ll have a fluffy self-saucing cake that’s delicious.

Check out my video below, and head over to Peanut Butter & Co for the full written recipe.

Full Disclosure: While Peanut Butter and Co. did not pay me to make this video or to say nice things about them here, they do pay me to write recipes for their blog.

Oh man. There is a 1 minute microwave brownie that does the trick in a pinch. The last thing most of us need to know is that we can do something similar with peanut butter!

I am amazed! I really like that all you had to do was use a cup in the microwave and presto! Do you know if this would be a good recipe I can recommend for seniors?

Thanks for the note! I’m not sure what you mean by “good”. If you’re asking if it’s easy to make then yes, it’s pretty easy, except the timing is critical, so if they have poor eyesight, it might be tough to judge when to turn the microwave off. They’d also need to be familiar enough with a microwave to use it. If by “good” you’r referring to nutrition, that would depend a lot on the needs of the seniors. Peanut butter has a lot of fat and there’s sugar added, so if those are a concern, it might not be suitable.

This recipe was so quick and easy. I need to buy your whisk. By the way Peanut Butter & Co. is my family’s favorite brand of Peanut butter as well.

Until your 20 second chocolate cake recipe came out, my dessert repertoire was quite limited. I am not a baker! Now I have a second recipe to add. Actually I now have three since I discovered you can layer the two recipes in the same mug. Molten chocolate peanut butter cake, is there anything better in this world? Thanks Marc!

Sunday night, 9:00 p.m. We were looking for a quick, sweet treat, and this was it. Amazingly easy and tasty. This one’s going to be part of our regular dessert rotation, that’s for sure. (We used chunky peanut butter, and it worked out well, also!)

Thanks for another great recipe, Marc!

Looks and sounds great but I don’t have a microwave… have you ever tried this in the oven???

    • http://norecipes.com Marc Matsumoto

Hi Chef Peter, nope I haven’t tried it in an oven, but if you use a hot enough oven it should work. Though you may want to use muffin tins instead of mugs.

I'm Marc, and I want to teach you some basic techniques and give you the confidence and inspiration so that you can cook without recipes too!
