RECIPE
Tamago Kake Gohan (卵かけご飯) is a popular Japanese breakfast made with raw eggs and rice. The hot rice partially cooks the egg creating a rich velvety mixture that’s kinda like Spaghetti alla Carbonara.
- 1 hot serving cooked Japanese short-grain rice - 1 egg - soy sauce (to taste)
Break an egg over the bowl of rice and separate out the yolk while adding the egg white to the rice.
Use chopsticks to mix the egg white into the rice until it gets frothy.
Finish the TKG by adding the yolk on top of the rice and drizzling on some good soy sauce.
