RECIPE

This easy 3 ingredient seasoning salt makes anything taste better thanks to the synergy between natural sources of glutamate and GMP.

INGREDIENTS

5 grams konbu 3 grams dried shiitake mushrooms (stems removed) 150 grams salt (~1/2 cup)

Break the konbu and shiitake mushrooms into small pieces and add them to a spice grinder or blender. Run until the ingredients are ground into a fine powder.

MAKE POWDER

Add the umami powder to the salt and stir until the ingredients are uniformly combined. 

MIX WITH SALT

Pour the umami seasoning salt into a sealed container or salt shaker to store until you use it. 

STORE

Sprinkle the umami salt on french fries, edamame, or vegetables. Season meats and seafood. Add it to dressings, sauces, soups or stews for a boost of umami.
